The Pendleton Heights volleyball team won the 2018 Madison County Championship this past Saturday. It was the 16th county title for the Lady Arabians but first title since 2005. The Arabians started off the tournament by defeating Frankton and Alexandria in the pool play round on Thursday. By going 2-0, Pendleton Heights earned a #1 seed heading into championship Saturday.
On Saturday, the Lady Arabians defeated Anderson Prep in straight sets during the quarter finals. Following a short break, Pendleton Heights then took care of the host Elwood Panthers in straight sets as well. The victory moved Pendleton Heights to the championship match for the 3rd consecutive year. In the previous two seasons, the Lady Arabians came up short losing to Madison Grant (2016) and Alexandria (2017). This year, Pendleton Heights learned from the previous years and defeated a good Lapel team for the championship. The victory was the second over Lapel this season.
