After evaluating the Pendleton Heights Return to Play Plan over the past few weeks, having many conversations with our administration and athletic trainer, as well as monitoring the spread of COVID-19 locally, Pendleton Heights Athletics has decided to move forward to Phase II with the following alterations to the original plan:
- Face covering will be monitored more strictly. While most were excellent, a few athletes were getting relaxed on this policy in Phase I. It also means that athletes will be encouraged to continue to wear their mask if multiple athletes are riding in the same car for workouts.
- Locker rooms will remain closed for all athletes. Football will have a one-time allowance for athletes to store equipment. They will not have access for daily use outside of that exception.
- Weight room will remain closed to athletes.
- Contact will not be permitted. This means athletes should not participate in any activity that they will be in physical contact with any other athlete (same as Phase I). This aspect will be evaluated weekly.
We will follow this protocol until notified differently. We will continue to monitor the amount of COVID-19 cases and look for the best approach that gets our student-athletes back in shape as well as keeps them healthy.
