With Governor Eric Holcomb’s announcement that Indiana will continue in stage 4.5 of the Indiana Back on Track plan and due to the uncertainty surrounding education based athletics, the Pendleton Heights Athletic Department has decided to suspend their 2020-2021 All-Sports ticket campaign. The lack of answers, restrictions being placed on attendance numbers, and health protocols have made it impossible to guarantee that pass holders will receive admittance to all athletic contests. Included in this suspension is the free admittance for Pendleton Heights High School students and the complimentary pass traditionally provided to all staff members of the South Madison Community School Corporation. Everyone that enters an athletic contest at Pendleton Heights will be required to have a ticket.
At this time, proposals are being created and will be submitted for approval from the Madison County Health Department that will seek permission for higher admission numbers than the 250 permitted by the governor’s order. When and if those plans are approved, details of the new protocol will be released to the public.
We are disappointed that we can’t serve our community, our high school students, and our hard-working SMCSC staff with our annual All-Sports Passes this year. We understand the frustrations that will come with this decision. However, continuing to sell tickets that can’t guarantee someone admittance is not fair to our community members. If you have already purchased All-Sports passes, you will be contacted by the Athletic Department. We will continue to work through this process with our student-athletes health and safety as the top priority.
