Game Recap

The NEVER GIVE UP ARABIANS put on quite a show last night but things didn’t quite work out for a victory. Even though we got 6 more first downs than the Golden Bears, and Eli Pancol had a stellar game, and Kirby Hess completed 17 out of 29 passes….. well, the score was a little bit short. The outcome did not show the size of the Arabian players hearts as they didn’t quit and gave it their all against some very stout opponents. So much for the regular season. Six wins against three losses is a positive sign for our program. Next up is the state tournament and we host Lebanon. Game starts at 7:00 which is earlier than usual. Let’s see if we can pack the stands like we did with homecoming!! GO BIG GREEN!!

Game Summary

1Q

The Arabians started the game with a dynamic kick off return by Eli Pancol as he took the kick at the 25 yard line and took it to the house. Thomas Quiroga added a good point after. Unfortunately, the Golden Bears matched the play with a 79 yard touchdown run only 15 seconds later. Their point after attempt hit the uprights and was no good.

2Q

The second quarter saw the Golden Bears outscore the Arabians 14-3. We scored first on a 24 yard field goal by Thomas Quiroga. With only 3:43 left in the half, Shelbyville scored a touchdown on a 14 yard pass. 2 1/2 minutes later they scored another touchdown on a 20 yard pass. Both point after attempts were good.

3Q

The third quarter saw the Arabians do the only scoring with a touchdown run from Kirby Hess with 5:13 left on the clock. Mr. Automatic, Thomas Quiroga once again had a good P.A.T.

4Q

The fourth quarter was exciting as the Arabians just couldn’t quite get over the hump. The Golden Bears scored first with a 32 yard touchdown run followed by a good PAT. Pendleton Heights scored 3 points on a 23 yard field goal by Thomas Quiroga. The Golden Bears answered with a pass interception that was returned for a touchdown. But wait…… The Arabians were not finished as Kirby Hess threw a long pass to Eli Pancol for a 73 yard touchdown. Another good point after and the clock didn’t have enough time left.
