The Arabian boys tennis team lost in the opening round of the Mt.Vernon sectional…held at Fishers High school. The boys played hard but still could not capture that third point needed to win the match. In singles play, seniors Caleb King and Zach Nelson just couldn’t win enough. Despite theirs scores, you would think the matches were close as both players were in each point. Junior Parker Hammons played tough and being down 2-5, came back to 4-5 before losing the match. In doubles play, both senior teams won in straight sets, although it was a tougher match than in seasonal play. Both teams were down at one point or another but battled through for the win.
At #1 doubles, Kaleb Alumbaugh and Jackson McKinney won 64, 64 to advance to the State Doubles Tournament to be held at the North Central courts during Regional play. They advance with an overall record of 17-5. At #2 doubles, Nick Vetor and Evan Bobb finished the season with an 18-4 record.
The season ended with a 5-13 record and 1-6 in conference play. Seniors graduating are Caleb King, Zach Nelson, Jack Long, Kaleb Alumbaugh, Jackson McKinney, Evan Bobb, and Nick Vetor. It has been a fun ride with these boys and we all wish them well and success in their future plans.
