The Pendleton Heights Girls Track team finished second on Monday night at the Yorktown and Shenandoah Dual Meet. The weather did not keep the Arabians from putting together a great first outdoor meet. The Arabians finished second, to the host Yorktown and coming in third was Shenandoah.
In the distance events, Pendleton Height’s Sy Parker won the 2 mile with Madison Brunnermer coming in 4th. The 4×800 team of Sy Parker, Christina Majors, Maddie McKee and Ashley Alderman were also winners. In the open 800, Christina Majors led the Arabians sweep of the 800. Following Christina was Ann Smith then Maddie McKee, Ashley Alderman. In the mile, Sy Parker finished second.
The Arabians also had a strong showing in the sprinting events. There were led by strong finishes in the 100 by a 2nd place finish by Anna Smith and a 3rd place finish by Devin Byars. In the 100m hurdles Patience Sakeuh in 2nd and Marissa Marshall in 4th. In the 400-meter run was Kate Cowger in 2nd and Sarah Dudley in 3rd. In the 300 meter hurdles, Marissa Marshall finished second and Patience Sakuh finished 3rd. In the 200 meters, Sarah Dix was 1st and Devin Byars was second.
In field events, the Arabians were led by Marissa Marshall with a first-place finish in high jump. In long jump Patience Sakuh finished second followed Devin Byars in 4th. In the shot put Jordan Miller finished second and Mckenzie Miller finished 4th.
Both the 4×100 and 4×400 finished second.
The Lady Arabians will compete at the Madison County Meet on Friday at Madison-Grant High School.
