Gracie Conkling showed timely hitting on Monday, driving in five on two hits to lead Pendleton Heights Arabians Varsity past Anderson 16-3 on Monday. Conkling drove in runs on a single in the first, a walk in the second, and a grand slam in the fourth.
After Anderson scored two runs in the top of the third, Pendleton Heights Arabians Varsity answered with two of their own. Anderson scored when Emma Kelley homered on a 3-0 count, scoring two runs. Pendleton Heights Arabians Varsity then answered when Kieli Ryan hit a solo homer and Megan Porter singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Pendleton Heights Arabians Varsity pulled away for good with seven runs in the second inning. In the second Ally Hall singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs, Conkling drew a walk, scoring one run, Amanda White singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and Grace Scott homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.
Brinkley Epperson earned the victory on the rubber for Pendleton Heights Arabians Varsity. She allowed six hits and three runs over four innings, striking out two. McKenzie Richardson threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Pendleton Heights Arabians Varsity tallied three home runs on the day. Conkling had a homer in the fourth inning. Scott put one out in the second inning. Ryan had a four bagger in the third inning.
