The Lady Arabian Swimmers opened their season with a victory on the road tonight against Oak Hill, winning 132-44. It was a strong start to the season as the girls swept all individual and relay swimming events with a first place finish, several swimmers posted best in-season times.

The girls started the night off with a win in the 200 Medley Relay with the team of: Lily Brooks, Kaitlyn Wheetley, Jaima Link and Mallory Gentry. The Arabians were also able to bring in a third place finish with the team of: Alexis Sutton, Catherine Dudley, Kennedy Safford, and Addison Williams. First individual win of the night went to Grace McKinney in the 200 Free, followed by Clara McIntyre in second and Allison Gentry in fourth.

The night’s momentum kept rolling with the 200 IM where Link took first and Stella Payne second followed by Isabel Blosser in fourth. Sprinting to a finish, Wheetley won the 50 Freestyle with M. Gentry and Brooks finishing 2-3 on her heels.

The Lady Arabians once again proved the depth of their roster with strong performances from both veterans and Freshmen with 1-2-3 finishes in the next three events. The 100 Fly posted top finishes from Link, Safford, and Payne respectively and the 100 Freestyle from M. Gentry, Claire Wittkamper, and Ella Dixon respectively. The girls dominated the long race of the night, taking 1-2-3 in the 500 Freestyle with strong swims led by McKinney, then McIntyre and Alia Walters.

The girls solidified their win by dominating the final events of the meet. The Lady Arabians took 1-2 in the 200 Freestyle Relay with teams of Payne, Link, Walters, and McIntyre followed by Sutton, Dixon, Emma Weflen, and A. Gentry. They then swept the 100 Backstroke by nabbing the top three spots with Brooks, Wittkamper, and Sutton; and swam a solid race in the 100 Breaststroke where Wheetley took first, Dudley second, and Weflen fifth. And the girls finished off the night with first place finish in the 400 Freestyle relay with the team Payne, Wittkamper, Walters, and McKinney as well as a third place finish with the team of Blosser, A. Gentry, Weflen, and Dudley.

The Lady Arabians will be joined by the boys for the first home meet of the season on December 1 at 5:30 pm.
