Even on an abbreviated roster, the Arabian swimmers laid down some strong swims. Despite their best efforts, the boys lost on the road to New Castle, 118-51.
The team of Jacob Simpson, Tyler Hollendonner, Trevor Cobb, and Ian Christian started the night off strong with a second place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. The freshmen then pulled off good swim swims in the 200 Freestyle with Christian placing fourth and Parker Christenson fifth. Cobb touched second in the 200 Individual Medley with teammate Hollendonner in fifth. The Arabians got the win in the next two events with Christian in first in the 50 Freestyle followed by Parker Hammons in fifth and Rett Lewis in sixth. And senior Cobb won the 100 Butterfly with freshman Simpson right on his heels in second.
Seniors continued to rack up points with Lewis in fourth and Hammons in fifth in the 100 Freestyle. The lone Pendleton distancer, Kyle Kemper, came in fourth followed up by a second place finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay by the team of Christian, Hammons, Simpson, and Cobb. The last few events of the night had strong swims, with Simpson in second and Christenson in fifth in the 100 Backstroke; and the 100 Breaststroke saw Arabians Hollendonner finish second and Kemper fourth. To top off the night, the 400 Freestyle Relay team of Kemper, Lewis, Christenson, and Hollendonner placed third.
As the team marches on toward sectionals, they will now prepare for the final dual meet of the season, at home on Tuesday, January 26 against Liberty Christian at 5:30 pm.
